Find enclosed a couple of images 'Sunflowers' and 'Vineyards' which might be of interest to you and your readers at MacFormat. They were originally scanned from photographs of mine and then prcessed using Photoshop's various filters. The results look remarkably like paintings. I hasten to add that this was not my intention.
I am a retired Graphic Design lecturer from Leeds Metropolitan University now living near Bordeaux in South West France.
After working with art students for nearly 30 years and now left to my own devices I find it difficult not to be inspired by the evolving seasons, the constantly changing light and shade on the rolling limestones hills, the sunflower fields and the wild Atlantic coast of the Charente Maritime region. I work from both drawings and photographs which are all scanned into my Mac G3
I have already had two exhibitions in France of my computer processed images much of this work is printed onto textured and hand made papers using my Canon BJC 4550 which has proven remarkably sturdy and adaptable. This process gives an added personal touch and makes the final prints more saleable as an original piece.
I have a Mac G3 with a 17inch monitor, a Zip drive and an old Power Mac 7200 with 15inch monitor connected to a UMAX scanner and a Canon BJC 4550 printer. I mainly use Photoshop with a few extra filter effects.
The images enclosed are only one aspect of my computer work. I also design posters, greeting cards and brochures for clients in both England and France using Illustrator and Freehand.
